Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881) was one of the most influential authors of the nineteenth century. His introduction of German literature and philosophy into Victorian society profoundly influenced later philosophical and literary ideas. Volume 3 of this 1896 edition of his works contains the second volume of The French Revolution.
