In the summer of 2013, professional photographer Cliff Roles went on a whirlwind "walkabout" of Europe. He covered 22 towns and cities in 15 countries over a 53-day period. Exploring the scenic islands of Crete and Santorini, Dracula's Castle in Romania, and metropolises from Istanbul to Jerusalem, Warsaw, Helsinki and Berlin, he aimed his camera at whatever struck his fancy. The results are an eclectic portfolio of familiar tourist haunts and unexpected attractions that captures a continent undergoing change as it tries to blend its ancient roots with the demands of the 21st century. Throughout, easy-going commentary and appealing images bear wit-ness to Roles' roving eye, curiosity and palpable joy in discovering the unique aspects of people, food, scenery and history he encountered.
