Papenfuse is the state archivist and commissioner of land patents at the Maryland State Archives. Constance B. Schulz is a professor emeritus of history at the University of South Carolina. She is author of Michigan Remembered, 1936-1943: Photographs from the Farm Security Administration and the Office of War Information and coeditor of Witness to the Fifties: The Pittsburgh Photographic Library, 1950-1953.
