Westheimer is a beloved and trusted therapist who revolutionized the national dialogue on sex, sexuality, and relationships with her radio program Sexually Speaking, and went on to host numerous television shows and author some forty books. She is the subject of a one-woman show about her life, Becoming Dr. Ruth, and the Hulu documentary Ask Dr. Ruth. She teaches at Columbia University's Teachers College.
