In the history of Tamil Nadu, the period of Pandya conquest by the landlords is considered by historians as the Dark Ages. Darkness is not just light. The term does not refer only to the ambiguity that exists outside. The 'Dark Ages' series refers to the darkness surrounding art, language, civilization and culture. I wanted the story to be written in the context of the Kalabhira period, with some friends pointing out the difficulties in fictionalizing a novel. ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿The belief that only the glorious golden age can be used to compose a great historical novel has become a ritual here. Apparently, the Dark Ages of the Pandyas were the golden age of the Kalabhiras. After the recapture of the country, the dark period of the Kalabiras would have become the golden age of the Pandyas. So even looking like this changes according to the angle of view. Not long ago, when I was planning to write about the Kalabhira period and then stopped writing historical novels, the Ananda Vikatan office asked me to write a historical novel to be published in Vikatan from the Independence Daily in August 1970.
