Since foundation of the office in 1985, David Chipperfield Architects have realised projects of diverse types all over the world - architectural milestones as well as smaller building tasks - that stand for clarity, minimalism and a successful combination of the tried and tested with innovation. The extended reprint of a monograph on David Chipperfield Architects has been supplemented by three current projects: the renovation of Mies van der Rohe's Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery) in Berlin; conversion of a former monastery in Paderborn to the Jacoby Studios; and the Hoxton Press residential towers as part of revitalisation of a housing estate in London. As usual, this monograph of publications in DETAIL gives a glimpse behind the scenes, describes processes and provides plenty of building details.
