'Johnny and the Sacred Stone' is the latest inspirational folktale by author Chinelo Emekwue. Johnny is a young African boy who works with his mother in farming. When his mother instructs him not to sit on the sacred stone in the farming area, Johnny decides otherwise and then faces tough consequences as a result. He initially begins feeling sorry for himself, not yet recognizing how his disobedience affects others as well as himself. When he finally becomes aware of how one small decision to ignore a warning can usher in danger, his life changes.
