"Sophia and Alex Visit Their Grandparents" is one of eleven volumes in the "Sophia and Alex" series, written by author Denise Bourgeois-Vance and illustrated by artist Damon Danielson. Sophia and Alex's family embark on a journey to see their grandparents who live far away. The children learn that traveling may consist of many modes of transportation such as airplanes, trains, and cars. They also see the unique interaction between their parents and their parent's parents, along with other relationships within their extended family.
The 32-page illustrated book shows the special relationship grandchildren have with their grandparents as compared to their own parents. They see the love that exists, and the comfort gained from bonding with those who love them.
