This volume is the very first monograph on the archaeology of peasants in the territory of Roman Spain. Most chapters are based on the analysis of a large quantity of un- or poorly published data obtained in various preventive excavations and regional survey projects. The book includes also a detailed discussion on the long-term patterns of historical evolution of the rural communities in Roman Spain from the Early Roman period to Late Antiquity.
