From January thru March 2019 a group of local visual artists and poets displayed their work at Calvert Library Prince Frederick during the same time as the Smithsonian's visiting Water/Ways exhibit. In the art show, poems hung alongside the artwork that inspired them. In this book, the art and poetry explore the relationship between people and water. It recognizes the centrality of water in everyone's life, including water's effect on the environment and climate, water's practical role in agriculture and our economy and its impact on our culture and spirituality. Here in these pages, you can revisit the magic of the art and the poetry that came together for this event. All of the poems are original and based on the artwork. The poems are written both by published professionals and aspiring students.
