Zusammenfassung

This book serves as the first board review book for the field of adult congenital heart disease (ACHD). Compared to previous texts in the field, this book includes more succinct topic summaries and a heavy emphasis on review questions, supported by a deck of nearly 300 MCQs available via the Springer Nature FlashCard app. It is intended for both test-takers in cardiology or ACHD board exams as well as for providers seeking to expand their knowledge in congenital heart disease. It provides the foundations of ACHD by describing the basic lesions, then moves on to deeper topics such as hemodynamics, diagnosis, and management to challenge the reader. It aims to be accessible to readers at varying levels of expertise, from nurses and medical students to physician subspecialists.

Each chapter will open with a set of questions to assess readers' basic knowledge and clinical skills. The second portion of the chapter will provides informational content in a summarized/ simplified manner. Special attention will be given to the current American Heart Association/ American College of Cardiology and European Society of Cardiology guidelines and their translation to daily practice.

Adult Congenital Heart Disease - Review and Self Assessment Book  also includes extensive assessment sections, divided into low, medium and high difficulty questions. Low difficulty will cover basic facts and diagnostics for nurses and medical students. Medium difficulty will cover intermediate topics for Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Cardiology trainees. High difficulty will cover advanced topics for specialists in ACHD, cardiac surgery and cardiac anesthesia.
