Sacred spaces are not merely geographical areas; they are centers situated at the intersection of faith, culture, and collective memory. Throughout history, such spaces have played a significant role in the formation of belonging and identity, contributed to the shaping of civilizations, and remained at the center of global politics. As in the past, this issue continues today to influence the balance of power in the Middle East and lies at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian question, establishing a strong connection between the individuals world of faith and social life.

This study examines the phenomenon of sacredness and the transformative impact of Jerusalem on society from the perspectives of Judaism and Islam. Within a historical framework extending from antiquity to the present, it demonstrates that Jerusalem has never been merely a piece of land, but has assumed both strategic and spiritual significance in the struggles for power among ruling states. The study also explores, through this geographical setting, the extent to which sacrednessa fundamental concept in the history of religionscan shape individual life and how it is reflected in social life.

By examining the theological, historical, and sociological heritage of the region in detail, this study emphasizes the importance of sustainable peace, freedom of worship, and equal protection so that Jerusalem may become, in accordance with the meaning attributed to it, a Dr al-Salm, a land of peace. The work offers a comprehensive and in-depth study for readers seeking to understand this ancient geography, where sacredness, history, and politics intersect, and to explore the extent of its influence on social life.
