Dr. Pilling holds a B.S. degree in English literature from Marquette University as well as a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, a M.S. and PhD in Electrical Engineering degrees from San Jose State University and the University of California at Santa Barbara, respectively. He held positions as a design and research engineer with Standard Oil of California, Fairchild Semiconductor, Advanced Micro Devices and Integrated Device Technology, sequentially for the last forty-nine years, and holds thirty-four patents.
